Angola: Deputy Minister of Culture Points Out Engagement in Cultural Sector

Luanda — The Angolan deputy minister of Culture, Luís Kandjimbo, Wednesday in Luanda, affirmed that Angola, as a member of UNESCO, has shown that it is concerned to elevate, more and more, the indicators of cultural development in the country.

Speaking to Angop, on the occasion of 21 May, World Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development's Day, Luis Kandjimbo referred that the ministry of Culture (Mincult), the country's arts governing body, has been drafting strategies, such as in training sector, so that the cultural agents, artists and various artistic communities can have well grounded technical and scientific knowledge.

"Within the strategies of Mincult, we have other dominions linked to cultural policy, for example, the need for creation, through the approval by the Cabinet Council, of the Government organic, National Management of Museums, in order to allow a greater access to cultural goods by the community", he indicated.

The United Nations General Assembly indicated 21 May World Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development Day, so that all the member states, intergovernmental organs, United Nations agencies and NGO sensitise the public opinion on the riches of cultural diversity through education and communication means.
