Angola: CFB Railways to Reach Border With Zambia By 2011

Lobito — The Benguela Railways (CFB) are expected to reach Luau village, Moxico province, in 2011, as result of the celerity of reconstruction works undertaken by the Chinese construction company at that railway lane, said Thursday the company's administrative director, Carlos Brás.

Speaking to press, in light to visit carried out by Mozambican Mass Media's officials to that railway firm, Carlos Brás stated that presently were restructured already the railway linking Lobito (Benguela)/Santa Ria (Huambo), in a distance of over 400 kilometres.

The official indicated the construction of 32 bridges as one of construction works in which they have spent great time since the official start of works three years ago.

Regardless the land preparation work and the launching of railway line, Carlos Brás revealed also that they are engaged in the construction of 74 railway stations, with large and medium length across the railway.
