Luanda — France has set aside funds to invest in public-private projects in Angola as from next year, particularly in agriculture, civil construction, water, electricity, ports and airports.
The information was released Wednesday in Luanda by the French minister of State for Foreign Trade, Anne Marie Idrac, who would not add details of the amount.
The official was speaking during a press conference that went as part of the France/Angola Business Forum.
She expressed her country's readiness to invest in Angola, based on investment/public-private partnership, involving at least 70 French companies in the business sector, seeking to contribute to Angola's development.
According to Anne Marie Idrac, this follows intentions expressed by the presidents of Angola and France to work for a better future and reconstruction of peace.
She added that to this end, a foundation was set up in 2008 to secure the development of economic, cultural and human projects serving Angolans.
The head of the French delegation said an accord was signed in June 2008 in Paris, between Angola and France, making provisions for protection and promotion of investments.
