Nigeria: U-17 World Cup - Country Will Meet Fifa Deadline - Illo

Lagos — FIFA Under -17 World Cup, Nigeria 2009 Local Organising Committee (LOC) vice chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mainasara Illo, has assured the nation that the committee will meet the 30 days grace period that the world football governing body, FIFA, gave to put the other four stadia in order or take the hosting right away.

FIFA vice president, Jack Warner, who led a delegation of the football governing body on inspection of facilities last Thursday gave the four sub seats of Kano, Ijebu - Ode, Enugu and Calabar a 30-day grace to make the stadia hundred per cent ready by the end of June or the tournament would be taken to another country, which has been asked to standby should Nigeria fail to meet the standards.
