Kigali — Dieudonne Habiyambere and Olivier Nkunda are into the last four of the CAT / Tanzania money circuit being held at Dar es Salaam's Gymkhana sports club.
Habiyambere dislodged Tanzania's Jacob Rembris 6-2, 6-3 while Olivier Nkunda fought hard before securing a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Kenya's experienced Francois Rogoi.
It was however a forgettable afternoon for Rwanda's top seed Jean Claude Gasigwa. The tennis ace was stunned with a 2-6, 3-6 defeat against another home boy Omar Abdul.
Gasigwa was Abdul's second Rwandan victim after Mathieu Uwizeyimana in the second round. Gasigwa was however quick to blame a niggling pain in his left leg for the elimination.
"It was difficult for me to move freely on court because of that injury I picked up in Nairobi. Abdul knew it and took full advantage of it," he told Times Sport on phone. There is a possibility of an all Rwandan final should Nkunda and Habiyambere win their semi-final ties today.
Nkunda takes on Kiango Kipingu while Habiyambere is up against Abdul.
