Luanda — Defence and Security experts from Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are gathered since Tuesday here for the approval of the constitution of the joint committee on defence and security, Angop has learnt.
During the gathering there will also be debated matters related to the defence, public and state security, adds the source.
At the opening act, the national director of international relations with the Angolan Defence Ministry, Admiral André Gaspar Mendes de Carvalho "Miau", defended the creation of a mechanism for keeping internal and external security between the two countries, as well as to solve armed conflicts on common border.
On his turn, the official adviser to DRC president for security matters, General Tim Monkutu Kiana, said both countries future only can be guaranteed through peace, security and bilateral co-operation.
"Our peoples are linked by indissoluble ties. We are linked by ties of blood, history and common aspiration. It is important to create mechanisms that help us defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity, keeping thus stability in the two countries", he said.
