"Pathfinder is in Sokoto to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership with the state government in the area of maternal and child health care services in order to support the state in its efforts to control maternal and child morbidity and mortality through community participatory and integrated approach involving all stakeholders," Mai told Governor Wamakko.

He added that the government's free medical care, FREMCARE, and rural medical care, RUMCARE, programmes, expansion of health care facilities and manpower development and capacity building initiatives were worthy of commendation and support by well-meaning organisations.
