Somalia: Pro Government Islamists Capture Mahaday Town

Mahaday — Pro government Islamic Courts Union forces have captured Mahaday town in north Jowhar, the regional capital of Midle Shabelle region, official told Shabelle radio on Thursday.

Mo'allin Dahir Adow Alasow, the ICU chairman of the middle Shabelle region told Shabelle radio that they took over the control of Mahaday town after fighting between their forces and forces against them who were managing it earlier.

Hisbul Islam group has captured the town from pro government ICU forces three weeks ago.

Mo'allin Dahir said that the pro government Islamic Courts Union forces are now controlling the town

No casualty has been reported yet and there is no comment from the other side who were controlling the town.
