Liberia: LPMC Board to Address Internal Wrangling

The newly reconstituted Board of the Liberian Produce Marketing Corporation (LPMC) has resolved that if the corporation is to make significant progress in the months and years ahead, the internal wrangling in the Corporation must be addressed and the total cooperation and commitment of all employees and staff solicited.

The Board made the decision at its first meeting on Friday, June 5, 2009 following two weeks of its formation by President Johnson-Sirleaf.

The Board further agreed that it will work assiduously over the next few weeks to ensure that a comprehensive report is prepared and submitted to GOL, encompassing LPMC's activities in the past, present and where it intends to go under the new dispensation, considering prevailing national and international market variables.

The Chairman, Dr. Roland Massaquoi, admonished all Board Members to be committed and dedicated to the cause of revitalizing LPMC so as to positively respond to the needs of the Liberian people during this period of national reconstruction and economic recovery.
