Kampala — NAKIVUBO stadium's dressing rooms will soon shift from underneath the pavilion to the Kirussia wing.
Stadium regulations by World football governing body FIFA require teams to march onto the pitch facing the pavilion.
Work on the new rooms below the Kirussia has already began in a general renovation where the entire covered stands and pavilion will also get a new roof.
Sports State minister Charles Bakkabulindi dismissed claims that part of the stadium was being destroyed to put up a shopping mall.
"That's absolutely wrong. What we are doing are routine renovations," he explained. "We have a stadium multi-discipline master plan that is currently with cabinet. Within three years it will be implemented."
