Angola: Aldeia Nova Agro-Industrial Project Agreement Signed

Malanje — The government of Malanje and LR group, a company in charge of implementing the agro-industrial project dubbed "Aldeia Nova", have signed Wednesday in the province's capital city, a memorandum for the execution for this project in the province.

On the occasion, the governor of the Province, Boaventura Cardoso, said that the project will have a great impact on the region, since it has obtained already success in Kwanza Sul (Waku Kungo District), having created new jobs and assisted with the development of the farming sector.

He added that the referred project will enable the construction of prefabricated houses in the province, which one way or other will help to minimise housings problems.

The agreement determines that the project be implemented at Catepeta (Cangandala District), with a new plan that includes 500 hectares for the production of cassava, one thousand square metres of irrigation system per family, one aviary with 700 chickens and 1 cassava flour- mill.

Aldeia Nova Project, which is being implemented in Kuije sector, in Cangandla District, is estimated at 50 million US dollars and is financed by the Angolan government.
