Kigali — Rwanda's military side APR thrashed Burundi's Muzinga 3-0 in the opening game of the East Africa Military Games yesterday at Amahoro stadium.
Fuadi Ndayisenga converted a penalty on 21st minute after a foul on APR striker Bokota Labama. Jean Mugiraneza scored the second goal from a header on 53rd minute before a neatly taken loop from Kabange Twite gave APR a third and deserved win.
Today, Kenya takes on Tanzania at Nyamirambo stadium.
In handball, Rwanda entertains Burundi at Amahoro stadium in the morning before an afternoon clash between Kenya and Tanzania.
In Netball, a huge test awaits Rwanda when they take on Uganda at Amahoro stadium.
The competition, which climaxes on June 25, has attracted teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Burundi. The teams are competing in five sporting disciplines; Football, Cross country (men and women), Boxing, Handball and Netball although discussions are underway to widen the scope of sporting disciplines.
