Luanda — The Angolan deputy minister of Culture, Luís kandjimbo, said on Monday in Luanda that the presence of the German Cultural Institute "Goethe Institut" in Angola shows, in an unequivocal way, the excellent state of the bilateral relations between both countries.
Luís Kandjimbo, who said so before inaugurating the "Goethe Institut", reminded that it has been two months that the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, in the light of his visit to Germany, signed an agreement in the cultural field with this European country.
"The creation of Goethe in Angola means how important Angola considers the cultural dialogue between the two peoples. Still, this dialogue between Angola and Germany is ancient", he said.
To him, in the relations between both peoples, it should be highlighted important studies carried out by German professors about Angola, which helped to transmit the culture of this African country in the German language.
"This cultural equipment "Goethe Institut" in Luanda is an example that the Angolan people is open to dialogue, to the knowledge of the German language, which is a cultural language known in the philosophy field", he said.
The first branches of this institute in Africa emerged in 1961, in Togo, Cameroon and Ghana.
Currently there are 25 delegations in Africa.
