Luanda — The movies entitled "O comboio da Canhoca" and "O herói" directed by the Angolan filmmakers Orlando Fortunato and Zézé Gamboa, respectively, will represent the country on 18- 25 June in Maputo City, Mozambique, in the first Cinema and Audiovisual show of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
According to a press note from the Angolan Embassy in that country which reached ANGOP on Wednesday, the event aims at promoting the visibility of the film industry and the cultural sector of the member countries of the community.
Besides the two movies, the organisers will also screen three short-feature films about the geography and the cultural potentials of Angola, produced by the Angolan company Quissama Produções.
During the event, it will be displayed movies produced in the last three years within CPLP, as well as it is scheduled the holding of technical workshops and thematic seminars related to cinema, music, literature, techniques of acting, among other arts.
The Angolan delegation comprises the director of the National Cinema Institute, Pedro Ramalhoso, the director of Luanda's Cinema Festival, Nguxi dos Santos, and the actors Luís Kifas "Sidónio" and Vanda Pereira "Lembinha".
