Johannesburg — A delegation of the Football International Federation Association (FIFA) is expected next August in Angola, as part of the organisation of the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN), in 2010, which Angola will host in January, informed Emmanuel Maradas, FIFA's press committee member.
Emmanuel Maradas gave the information last Tuesday in Johannesburg, South Africa, while welcoming an Angolan media delegation that was paying a visit to the press centre, set up at
"Coca-cola Park" stadium, which is also hostingthe Confederation Cup of Football.
According to him, FIFA considers that a successful organisation of CAN2010 will be a positive influence to the World Cup, that will take place six months after the mentioned African competition.
To this purpose, he informed that a message was addressed to the executive director of COCAN, António Mangueira, on the arrangement of the date and programme of the visit.
The delegation of Angolan media is paying a week-long visit in the ambit of CAN2010.
Led by the head of the documentation department of the Media Ministry, Paulo Gomes, the
delegation includes journalists and technicians of the state-owned radio station (RNA), television (TPA), Angola new agency (ANGOP) and Jornal de Angola newspaper.
