Harare — SUNGURA musician Alick Macheso will release his long-awaited album by November after settling his contractual wrangle with South Africa's Mobile Music Trust.
The album, as yet untitled, will be recorded at the newly established Last Power Media, a record label where Macheso is a director. Macheso was in South Africa to stage shows in Johannesburg and Pretoria last week and met with the MMT bosses.
"After a long time considering the future of my music contract, I have decided to take my next album to Last Power Media, although I'm still to sign a contract," he said. "We have rehearsed enough and we are ready to record soon."
He said they would book rehearsing time with veteran producer Bothwell Nyamhondera to polish up their act before going into the studio. "The agreement is that Mobile Music Trust will distribute my music in South Africa while Last Power Media does the job here.
"We have starved our fans for a long time so they should certainly expect our new album before the beginning of November." "So I will approach the company and see what they have to offer, but I can safely say that the deal is sealed. "I will record with Last Power Media and I have to be treated like any other musician."
