Ghana: Towards Implementing Freedom of Information Act

Accra — These are the right days for Ghanaians to intensify the campaign to have the Right to Information (RTI) / Freedom of Information (FOI) law passed.

The current government since coming into office has been making the right noises about passing the law, but even so was the previous government which enthusiastically drafted the Bill, but soon developed cold feet towards passing it into law. It might interest stakeholders to note that the current government is shying away from giving any time span within which the Bill will be passed.
