London — Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Zainab Hawa Bangura, has said the assumption of power by President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in Sierra Leone is the best thing ever politically to happen to Sierra Leone.

Bangura made this comment recently while addressing staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission in London, United Kingdom, on her return from the United States of America where she co-chaired the high level special session of the Peace Building Commission in New York.

"We have a dedicated and committed President who hardly rest in thinking about how to turn things around positively for Sierra Leone," Minister Bangura said and expressed her determination to ensure the President achieves his vision at all cost.

"That is why we are working as a team to support our President," the Minister said.

Minister Zainab therefore called on staff of the High Commission to follow suit and work together as one family in order to achieve positive goals geared towards national development.

She highlighted some of government's achievements as well as strides currently undertaken by the President, that includes the launching of the Freetown - Conakry Highway, the success story on power generation as well as the President's Agenda For Change which identifies key priorities for stimulating the economy and addressing the chronic problems of youth unemployment and poverty reduction, to mention but a few.

This is not the first time that Minister Zainab has sang praises for the President - she virtually make use of every single opportunity granted her on interviews to reiterate the President's commitment towards alleviating the living standard of the ordinary Sierra Leonean people.

Present at the meeting were the High Commissioner, Melvin Chaloba, his deputy Tamba Mansa Ngebah and diplomatic staff of the High Commission.
