Eritrea: Investors Demonstrating High Interest in Free Economic Zones - Dr. Araya

Massawa — The managing director of the Eritrean Free Economic Zones Authority, Dr.Araya Tsegai, said that investors are demonstrating high interest in the zones in view of their strategic location and the prevailing favorable investment climate in the country.

Pointing out that the authority has been making the necessary advance preparations and putting in place infrastructure facilities, Dr.Araya stated that Massawa and Assab along with their port facilities as well as airports have been placed under the administration of the Authority.

He further explained that companies from various countries have already filled the required formalities and that the Free Economic Zones Authority is on a promising take off stage. Moreover, other than the ventures to be embarked upon on an individual basis, there would take place government-to-government investments in the Eritrean Free Economic Zones, Dr.Araya elaborated.
