Nigeria: 'Nigerian Aviation Immune to Global Meltdown'

Lagos — Amidst the global recession which has crippled various trade activities, Nigerian Airlines have continued to succeed in their business endeavours.

The group managing director of Chanchangi Airlines Limited, Mr Trevor Worthington said the global meltdown does not have any impact on its operations within the country, saying that it rather helped the airline with the dropping of the prices of aircraft.

He said, "The global meltdown does not have any impact on our operations within the country so far, and if anything, it has helped us as an airline because prices of aircraft have dropped, compared to competition, on some parts, we see a slight drop in prices, certainly on the cost of aircraft. We anticipated this, everybody has been pushing down."
