24 June 2009

Luanda — Cote D'ivoire striker Didier Drogba of England's Chelsea FC on Wednesday here announced the holding of a friendly game between a team of African stars and the Angolan national soccer team, in December, Angop has learnt.

Speaking to press, the international footballer said that the game will be played late this year, due to the commitment of his club and the national team.

"In December, we will try to play this match. We will do our best to bring here the greatest stars of the African football", he said, considering as important the union of the players based in Europe.

In his opinion, the holding of CAN-2010 in Angola should be seized at all levels, due to the impact that the competition has gained only compared to the participation of the national squad in the World Cup held in Germany, three years ago.

Didier Drogba, 31, said that it is important that Angolans organise the competition set for the provinces of Huila, Luanda, Benguela and Cabinda, highlighting that it will be a good pleasure to be present in this feast with the Elephant, the nick-name of his country's national squad.
