Uganda: Kacita Annual Awards Get Boost

Kampala — The Peoples Verdict Quality Awards (ANI MUKOZI), organised by the Kampala City Traders Association (Kacita), has received a boost from Fina Bank worth Shs10 million.

The awards will target a cross section of manufacturers, dealers and service providers to support the delivery of quality products and services.

Ag. Managing Director Mr Julius Omoding said "Fina Bank as a regional bank that specialises in dealing with SMEs, plans to extend the assessment to a wider business community.

"We believe that this sponsorship will promote quality goods and services in the country and also give consumers an opportunity to share their experiences with the providers," he said while handing over the money to Kacita PRO Mr Issa Sekitto on Tuesday.

Throughout the next couple of weeks and months, Fina Bank and Kacita will engage in several activities involving best practices on key challenges faced by the traders.

Mr Sekitto said the Association will use the money to sensitise consumers about shoddy, fake and counterfeit products and services, currently on the local market.

"A number of people are after cheap products not knowing they have implications in the long run," he said.
