ZAIN Zambia clients in some parts of the country yesterday experienced network failure as they were not able to phone or receive calls or messages.
Management attributed the network failure to maintenance work which the company carried out on Wednesday evening on its Ericsson Lusaka switching centre.
Zain public relations and corporate affairs manager, Kennedy Mambwe said customers in the Livingstone and the Copperbelt areas experienced some calling difficulties due to some maintenance work carried out by one of Zain's network vendors.
In a statement in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Mambwe said Zain and its vendors had a team of experts who had been working on the problem and expected to restore normal service soon.
Zain has since deeply regretted any inconvenience to its customers.
Some Zain customers complained in Lusaka and the Copperbelt yesterday that they were facing network problems to contact people in some parts of the country.
The customers urged the mobile phone provider to quickly address the matter.
