Eritrea: Over 1,300 Families From Southern Region Move to Gash-Barka So As to Lead a Better Farming Life

Barentu — More than 1,300 families from the Southern region have moved to Golij sub-zone in Gash-Barka so as to lead a better farming life.

The aforementioned families who used to live in the eastern escarpment of Senafe sub-zone and not in a position to obtain satisfactory harvest due to the negative consequences of climatic change were moved to Gash-Barka region in the wake of submitting petition to the government, Mr. Bereket Tekeste, Administrator of Senafe sub-zone disclosed.

Likewise, formerly internally displaced citizens due to the TPLF regime's war of aggression who were resettled in Adi-Quala sub-zone have recently moved to Golij sub-zone upon request.

According to reports, the families who moved to Gash-Barka region received 3,000 Nakfa each as an initial step, in addition to free transport and anti-mosquito nets.
