Kigali — Hollywood star and human rights activist Danny Glover is in the country for the closing night of the 5th annual Rwanda film Festival.
Rwanda Cinema Centre (RCC) Director, Eric Kabera, confirmed that the Glover will attend the ceremony, at Kigali Serena Hotel, June 28.
"We invited him for the event, because he is a great supporter of RCC and is an activist."
Glover will be on his first visit in Rwanda, and RCC has organised for him a city tour during his three-day visit in the country.
Mr. Kabera also pointed out that this year's film festival has been successful and attracted very many people from all walks of life.
"I'm grateful for everyone's support. Hillywood is now becoming bigger and better."
Glover is the Dean of African American Character Actors. He was nominated for the Genie award for "Best Performance" in a supporting role for: "Poor Boy's Game (2007)".
The festival started on June 18, featuring a tour of the country called 'Hillywood', and screened films from East Africa as well as those by Rwandan filmmakers.
The 63-year-old famous for his lead role in the film "DreamGirls" and 'Lethal Weapon 1 to 4' was expected to land at Kigali International Airport 6:45 PM aboard Brussels Airline, but was delayed for a couple of hours as his local fans waited enthusiastically.
