Freetown — Sierra Leone's burgeoning tourist industry received a massive boost with the opening yesterday of a prestigious first class Taia Resort hotel on the Lumley beach, west of Freetown.
The US$5.7 million magnificently constructed hotel, with beckoning ambience, is the brainchild of leading indigenous entrepreneur Wilfred Sam King.
After his feat with the Kimbima hotel Sam King, and having explored and operated one of the largest stationery enterprises - Sam King Services - in the country, the business enthusiast said "the sky is the limit for what one can achieve if you have the vision."
The 33 bedroom luxury hotel complex with its breathtaking sea view includes exquisite presidential/honeymoon suites which come complete with secretarial services; VSAT with wireless and wired internet access along with IP phones for inexpensive international calls, and plasma TVs with integrated DVD players and 16 channels satellite TV.
The elegant Mangrove restaurant offers a large variety of European and African cuisines prepared by a highly experienced Chef along with a 24 hour lobby bar and reception desk.
'Meet and Greet' services at the Lungi international airport and onward transfer to Freetown are available along with concierge services to help guests move around, plus in-house tours of the beautiful Sierra Leonean countryside.
Conferences, meetings and receptions can he held with state of the art facilities located in the Prof. D.R.G. Gwynne-Jones hall Mangrove conference hall and J.L. Borbor boardroom.
With the scenic Lumley beach on the doorstep, there is also a suspended swimming pool along with on-site shops and banking services.

This is Sierra Leone,even when a dog is decorated with US Dollars on the streets of Freetown,they'll call that dog a "Bumber". Now they consider Sam King in Freetown as a "Bumber".There're so many of Sam Kings' in Sierra Leone. Thank you for this information on one of those "Bastards".
Hi Fellow Sierra Leoneans, People have written nasty things about Sam King. But are they fair with Sam King or Sierra Leone? How many cases have been brought up in court or police against Sam King? How credible are the allegations against Sam King? Writing those nasty things against Sam King that could not be substantiated is not disgracing Sam King, but simply disgracing the country, Sierra Leone. There is nothing wrong exposing Sam King if he has done anything wrong but it is also wrong to insult him simply because the is bold enough to expose his wealth. I don't know Sam King personally but when I get to Sierra Leone I will try to meet him. Those I know that have gone into business with Sam King , described him as a decent business man. Hi writer, Calling Sam King an idiot or a bastard exposed your caliber and naiveness. Please encourage anyone that you truly believe Sam King raped in Sierra Leone. If Sam King spends his money to have sex with countless women with their consent, that could not add up to rape. I am not saying he did, but I am creating a scenario that you could or could not make assertions. However, your attitude against sam King is the type of attitude that grips Sierra Leone our beloved country and made it what it is. That is the wrong way to lobby around a successful person. This is a man that I had so much respect for but having known him for good I have realized that he does not deserve any respect. I am not impressed and will never be impressed by whatever he does. THIS GUY IS A RAPIST, ALL HE DOES IS TO LURE KIDS INTO HIS HOUSE INCLUDING RELATIVES FROM THE VILLAGE AND KEEP ASSAULTING THEM SEXUALLY UNTIL THE VICTIM REALIZES THAT SHE IS BEING ABUSED. This has being continuing for long and when I last spoke to the idiot-samking- he shamefully admitted because of the facts that I presented to him and in his childish voice says' but i am sorry for all that'. No he continues cos old habits die hard. Sam if you are reading this remember I told you that I am in for a fight with you and my quite should not deceive you. I will come to Salone one day and take you on. If all is scared of you cos of the pea nuts money that you have I am not. We some how have to make the streets clean of people like you cos our daughters are growing up.
