Head of Service of the Federation, Stephen Oronsaye, on Monday warned civil servants against keeping files beyond one day in their offices.
He said such actions have affected quick dispensation of governmental activities.
Oronsaye gave the warning at a meeting with directors and permanent secretaries in Abuja..
He said the civil servants have no business keeping files beyond a day in their offices except they need some clarifications on certain matters which must be referred to his knowledge before such delay can be effected if necessary.
According to him, if the seven-point agenda of the present government is to be realised, civil servants must see themselves as catalyst for the attainment of the goal.
He reminded them that all eyes are on them, especially as they are now in a democracy.
He also reminded them that as civil servants they will be blamed for any failure of government because people will trace the failure of the government to wrong advice of the government workers.
