Benin — Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers yesterday abducted the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Nomagbon Pharmacy, Osadolor Nomagbon, in Benin City.
Nomagbon was said to have been kidnapped by five armed men who had trailed him from church at Omoruyi Street, Off Upper Lawani Road, while returning home from Sunday church service.
The gunmen blocked the victim's bus, popularly known as: "Hummer Bus", from where they pulled him out and forced him into the boot of their Mercedes Benz 190 car, while other members of the gang shot sporadically to scare away perceived intruders.
Policemen were said to have arrived the scene after the alleged kidnappers had departed. Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Police Command, ASP Peter Ogboi, said that he was yet to be briefed on the incident.. Also, two gunmen trailed the women leader of the Upper Lawani Branch of the Spirit and Life Bible Church at Aigbe Street, off Epih Street, off Upper Lawani Road to snatch her Toyota Camry at gun point in front of the church.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command had paraded eight persons over their alleged involvement in various crimes, ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and car
snatching.
Among those paraded was a five-man gang who attempted to kidnap a local government chairman in the state.
