Syirte — The AU (Africa Union)'s special envoy to Guinea-Bissau, João Bernardo de Miranda, on Monday considered the antecipated elections in the country as "free, fair and normally checked", awaiting now for the pronunciations of the teams of observers.
Reporting at the 15th session of the AU executive council seating in Syrte (Lybia), the former Angolan Foreign Affairs minister said that at the moment " a concern prevails in a positive way, since the Sunday antecipated presidential election had a happy ending and the whole region is aware that they went well".
"Problems in Guinea-Bissau normally arise after the elections. Now the concerns prevail because the peaceful mood of the elections was not due to politicians but to the civility of the population" -he said expressing the concern of the AU and the world body on what may happen after this election.
Mr de Miranda disclosed that an AU consultation meeting was summoned Monday to discuss some actions that may be taken soon, but everything is depending on the country's new leaders to come out of these elections.
In the meantime, he said, the AU and the international community remain unable to discuss with the interim officials any useful initiative aimed at assisting the country with the inquiry commission, protection of investigators and suspects and also with the seriousness of the investigations on the recent murder of several politicians including the late president Joao Bernardo "Nino" Vieira and chief-of-staff of the Armed Forces, Tagme na Waye.
The AU Peace and Security Council backed the efforts of the president of the Commission of the African Union, through its special envoy, in order to support the stabilization process in the country and urged him to pursue the efforts and in coordination with the United Nations and the ECOWAS leading to a way out of the political crisis.

I would like to know how is life in Guinea Bissau, if they are having serious problems of communication to the exterior, how people live all this changes there and how much affected them all this.
