Aligidir — President Isaias Afwerki conducted inspection tour of development programs in Ali-Ghider, Golij and Tesenei from June 29 to 30.
The President observed the putting in place of agricultural and industrial infrastructures in Aligidir at substantial expenditure with a view to raising productivity, during which he conducted discussions with experts and supervisors of the project.
Assessing the encouraging outcome of the task being undertaking to put each hectare under cultivation, President Isaias exchanged views with pertinent experts on ways of cultivating strategic seeds, effective utilization of the installed electricity lines and speed up water distribution programs as well as charting action plan that ensures their effective implementation.
Also in the course of the visit to Golij sub zone, he observed farming activities underway through a number of heavy machineries and received briefings by experts that the necessary preparations have already been made before the onset of the rainy season.
Likewise, after staying for a while with the inhabitants of Golij semi-urban center, President Isaias inspected the task accomplished in Tessenei to prevent flood from the Gash-River that used to inflict damage on farmlands.
Moreover, in a meeting with administrators, Army commanders and heads of various government institutions, the President took note of the study undertaken through sub committees in the region and stressed the need for mapping out action plan that conform to major investment activities in the region.
