Lagos — A faith-based non governmental organisation in Lagos , Builder & Maker has presented 200 benches and desks worth about N2 million to Ikorodu Junior Grammar School .

Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Mrs. Debola Mc Prince, who said the donation was an accomplishment of a long time vision to positively affect peoples' lives, enjoined Nigerians to contribute towards improving the standard of education in the country.

She said private sector partnership with the government in ensuring quality education was imperative since government could not do it alone. "Since these young ones are future leaders, it behoves on all stakeholders to partner with the government in ensuring effective teaching and learning towards improved standard of education."

Mc Prince decried the deplorable and dilapidated state of public schools, which she said posed great danger to the health of the students.

She called on Nigerians to live up to their responsibilities towards proper education of their wards, especially the less privileged in the society by taking out time to visit public schools with the view to determining areas of needs and addressing them.

According to her, no amount of investment on children was too much and promised to do more for the school by reaching out to partners who would assist her organisation for the rehabilitation of a block of classrooms.

The principal, Mrs. Mary Modupe Kunnuji thanked the donor and described it as a prayer answered as well as great relief to the students, which would complement the government's efforts at ensuring an environment conducive for learning.

She called on other well-meaning Nigerians, corporate and religious bodies to emulate Mc Prince by coming to the aid of public schools.
