Cameroon: Yang Philemon - New Prime Minister

President Paul Biya yesterday appointed Yang Philemon Cameroon's new Prime Minister, Head of Government.

There was joy, happiness and expression of thanks to the Head of State last evening at the residence of the new Prime Minister of Cameroon, Yang Philemon. Shortly after the news of his appointment, broadcast at the start of the 5:00 p.m news over the CRTV National Station, members of government, parliamentarians, directors, friends, relatives and well-wishers started streaming into the new Prime Minister's residence situated directly opposite the entrance to the Yaounde Military Hospital to celebrate with him

Mr Yang also coincidentally came home earlier. When the news broke out, the number of security officials increased in his residence to, besides security matters, coordinate circulation. Each group and officials who came shook hands with the new Prime Minister saying " congratulations". Pressmen also trooped into Mr Yang's residence to get his reactions shortly after the appointment. Mr Yang replaces Ephraim Inoni who was Prime Minister since December 2004.
