President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, at the head of an 8-member official delegation, has left the country for the 13th Ordinary Session of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. This year's Summit is taking place in Sirte, the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, from July 1 - 3, 2009.
Under the theme, "Investing in Agriculture for Economic Growth and Food Security," the three day summit will focus primarily on agricultural development on the continent as well as political developments in a number of African countries, including Somalia.
During President Johnson Sirleaf's absence from the country, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Ambulai Johnson, will coordinate the affairs of Government in consultation with Vice President Joseph Boakai.
