Accra — A delegation of Angolan parliamentarians participates since last Monday at a workshop on effective electoral assistance, co-organised by the European Union and by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
According to a press release issued by the Angolan embassy in the West Africa country, the event will examine among other topics, electoral experience, particularly regarding the electoral registration system, most expected for the success verified during the latest legislative elections, held in the country in September 2008.
On the sidelines of the workshop, a meeting between Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) was held in light to cooperation programme called PIR-PALOP, subsidised by the European Union.
The Angolan deputies delegation is chaired by the Angolan MP Carolina Cerqueira and is integrated by her colleague Jaka Jamba, members of National Electoral Commission and of the Ministry of Territory Administration.
