Ghana: Commissioning of Hockey Stadium July 6

Baring any unforeseen circumstances, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will commission the newly-constructed hockey stadium on Monday July 6, 2009, in Accra in the evening.

The commissioning, originally scheduled for July 3, was pushed forward to enable some foreign guests grace the anticipated colourful occasion.

According to Mr. Magnus Rex Danquah, the commissioning, which will be in the evening, will also be used to test the flood lights at the Stadium, where the Indian business community and their Ghanaian counterparts (Veterans hockey club) play in a friendly game.

In the morning of the same day, there will be a youth hockey clinic to test the facility.
