Abuja — Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Committee of Elders, Senator Ike Nwachukwu has identified ego as one of the problems rocking the much needed cohesion and ideology in the party.

Senator Nwachukwu was speaking yesterday in Abuja during the inauguration of the 14-member elders' committee which he was appointed to head.

He said only people with higher ideals subsume their ego and appreciate national and vital ideals that would lead to the growth of the party.

"As members of the PDP what we should be thinking of are the ideals of this party; what the PDP stands for; yes we all have a stake for this. But how can our stake be meaningful if the party to which we belong is in disarray? How can what we want to achieve be achievable if our ego stands way above the ideals of the party? I believe that members of this comittee will do the best we can," Nwachukwu stated.
