Kampala — THE early success of eight-year-old Vanessa Semmanda could set the foundation for her to become the first Ugandan to compete at top tennis events like Wimbledon.
The UK-based Ugandan tennis prodigy won the Wearside Academy U-9 title in Wimbledon last weekend and is set for another club contest on July 11.
Semmanda's performance so far means she can now compete in Ladies Tennis Association (LTA) regional tournaments.
A daughter of Sweden-based Julius Semmanda, she currently lives with her mother in London.
