Namibia: Feedmaster Reaches Afri Compliance Status

1 July 2009

LOCAL business Feedmaster Namibia has received its international manufacturing and production compliance certificate from Afri Compliance.

The Gold Status Mark of Approval certificate was handed over by Afri Compliance Managing Director Joe Hanekom during a function yesterday morning.

"The compliance process concentrated on food safety, bio-security and quality in the manufacturing processes at Feedmaster with international acceptable standards," said Hanekom at the handover to André Snyman, MD of Feedmaster.

Feedmaster is in the animal feeds industry.

According to Hanekom, Afri Compliance was established after he made contact with an US institution, the Integrity Certification Bureau.

"The concept intrigued me and I realised that this was something which could be of great value to Southern Africa."

His company adapted the US concept to conditions in southern Africa.

"We worked hard during the compliance process, which covered every aspect of our operations, including raw materials management, delivery management, label requirements and record keeping," said Snyman.
