Luanda — The Ministry of Health and the Angolan public Agostinho Neto University will inaugurate as from the next academic term, in Luanda, the Higher Health Sciences Institute.
Speaking to ANGOP on Wednesday, the national director for medicines and equipment, Boaventura Moura, said that this institution will replace the Higher Nursing Institute which will comprise the subject of pharmaceutical sciences.
According to him, although one can find this subject in two private faculties in Luanda, the pharmaceutical sector has lack of staff and he urges the need of creating a public university.
He guaranteed that the project was approved by senior entities and it will initially start with a class of nearly 35 students, as it is a laboratorial course and it involves a considerable volume of exact sciences.
He added that in the future, it will be included in the course the subject of laboratorial clinical analyses.
According to Boaventura Moura, the course will count on the co-operation of the Portuguese Coimbra University.
In the ambit of the human resources, the National Medicine Department intends to restart with the sector's technical trainings at higher institutes that will pass through professional training inhealth schools.
These institutes will mainly welcome basic pharmacy technicians.
