Angola: Zone Fourth Sport Officials Vow Greater Investment on Education

Luanda — The national directors of 4th sport zone, met in June from 16-26 in Lilongue (Malawi) expressed the need of increasing upgrading of professionals and the improvement of the communication between the member States, Angop learnt on Thursday.

According to the Angolan representative at the forum, the national director of sports, Raimundo Ricardo, there were analysed projects of sport development, based on the experiences of Europe, America and some African countries such as Angola.

He referred that most of projects presented by the members of 4th zone identify with the programme implemented in the country dubbed "Despontar", which aims at the expansion, development and discovery of talents, on a first phase in sport activities such as soccer,

handball, basketball, athletics, adapted sport, gymnastic and roller hockey.

"Despontar" programme started to be implemented in 2007 in provinces of Bengo and Kwanza Norte.

The 4th sport zone comprises countries such as Angola, Malawi, Lesotho, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland.
