Luanda — The Ministry of Youth and Sports has defined September as the deadline for auscultation of federations on the programme of modalities priorities, ahead of London's 2012 Olympic Games, the national director of sports, Raimundo Ricardo announced.
The official said that his managing board has been promoting meetings with members of various federations, through which seek to get contributions to this initiative, debated in the second higher council of sports, held on May 12-16, in Huambo city.
On the occasion, the proposal that presented football as the number one modality was rejected, having be recommended more opinions in order to be adapted a more consensual standing. This modality was followed by handball, basketball, swimming, athletics, chess and adapted sports.
The choice of football was due to the number of athletes, as well as the fact that its dimension transcends the sports ambit.
