Abuja — The House of Representatives said they will debate the proposal made by the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RFMAC) to cut constituency allowances from 250 percent to 125percent for Senators and 150 percent to 75 percent for the House of Representatives.
Rep Eseme Eyiboh Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs told Daily Trust that the MPs had earlier made commitment to support the government on its way to economic recovery adding that it was their personal sacrifice. Eyiboh gave the monthly constituency allowance given to each lawmaker as N165, 434, 38k stressing that they have no problem with the new proposal.
According to him, "we're going to debate the proposal and come up with a position but suffice to say, we have made a resolution to support the government on economic recovery", he stated.
