Meeting in Buea, they resolved to be more vigilant and encouraged the Head of State in his strive for nation building.
The five sections of the CPDM in Fako Division met yesterday in the Party Secretariat in Buea and resolved to support the Head of State against damaging publications made from within and without the country in recent times. The Fako politicians met under the Chairmanship of Gwendoline Burnley, Central Committee member and envoy.
On the agenda of the meeting were three major points namely: A call for vigilance with regards to publications made against the Head of State and CPDM Party leader, President Paul Biya, a motion of congratulations to the newly appointed Prime Minister, Philemon Yang and a motion of thanks to the out gone Prime Minister, Chief Ephraim Inoni thanking him for the services he rendered to the nation.
The Fako Party leaders and militants urged militants and the general public to be vigilant against all rumours intended to tarnish the image of the nation and the Head of State.
Gwendoline Burnley told the press that there have been many publications for and against the Head of State but that if any militant were asked anything about it, they should be very vigilant and cautious in discussing about them. For, she stressed, many people envy Cameroon and will not want to see us succeed in our struggle out of the economic crisis. She said President Biya had spearheaded the fight against corruption and did not need any distraction at the moment.
With regards to the new Government of 30 June, 2009, Fako politicians rejoiced that they had had a merited consideration of the Head of State with two successive Prime Ministers and that they were happily promising their support to the new PM to strive for the socio-economic progress of the country. They were all the more happy that the new PM Philemon Yang made his debut as a public servant in Buea before scaling into high positions in the administration.
As such, "we feel that Philemon Yang is part of us", Fako 111 CPDM hosts President Mbella Moki Charles told the press.
Alongside their programme, the five sections of the CPDM resolved to strengthen the Party even more than before; promising that the next election will see the Party even stronger. "At a time when the nation is at a turning point with attacks on our Party Chairman, there is a need to revitalise and render dynamic our Party structure at the local level. This is what warranted us to come together here in Buea to tally opinions and move ahead in support of our Head of State against external attacks," Mbella Moki said.
Effectively present at the Buea meeting were Party leaders and militants from Fako 1 (Limbe), Fako 11 (Muyuka), Fako 111 (Buea - host), Fako lV (Tiko) and Fako V (Idenau). Personalities that attended the meeting included Njalla Quan (General Manager of the CDC), Eteki Charles Dikongue (CPDM Section President from Tiko), Tonde Gabriel (Section President of the CPDM for Idenau), Mrs Etonde Mbua (WCPDM Section President for Fako 111).
