Luanda — The Minister of Planning, Ana Dias Lourenço, announced Thursday, in Luanda, the Angolan Government is to provide a positive growth of the country's economy, despite the global economic and financial crisis.

Ana Dias Lourenço made this statement at the plenary session of the National Assembly, led by the deputy speaker, João Lourenço, in the presence of the Prime Minister, António Paulo Kassoma, for approval, in general, of the Draft Revision of the General State Budget for 2009 and the National Plan.

Without specifying the percentage expected, the government official said that the growth of national economy results mainly from the growth of the Angolan oil sector.

"Despite the impact of global economic and financial crisis in our economy and reduce the level of our revenue, the Government will keep the implementation of major structural projects that are of Public Works and Transport, sectors that require a lot of manpower and employment guarantee, "added the official.

For the minister, the crisis requires countries to make revisions to its law in consecutive economic growth.

"The average price of oil continues to fluctuate, despite the increase, from last February, which is at around USD 70 per a barrel," she said.
