Harare — Air Botswana has increased its flight frequency from Gaborone to Harare to three.
Prior to this, there were only two flights connecting the two capitals from neighbouring countries.
"Air Botswana has added Saturdays to Mondays and Wednesdays on its Harare to Gaborone flight schedule. Now you can fly return from Harare to Gaborone three times a week," said the airliner in a statement. This comes at a time when traffic between the two countries has been increasing as a result of a number of reasons.
Many business people doing business in either country have opted to use the quick and convenient air transport.
A 65-member business delegation from Botswana was in the country recently and some members of the delegation have since been to the country to follow up on potential deals.
It has also been highlighted that the increased regional integration has also meant that there are more people travelling thus there is need to meet the demand.
A relative stabilisation of the Zimbabwean economy has also attracted the interest of potential investors as well as tourists who may have either visited Botswana or those leaving the country.
