Ilorin — Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki, weekend, ordered some local government officials in the state who allegedly diverted six trailers of fertilizers totaling 3,600 to unknown destinations, to return them to the appropriate places with immediate effect, or face sanctions.

It would be recalled that, policemen at Oke-Oyi, in Ilorin East Local Government Council area of the state, weekend, intercepted 600 bags of fertilizers.

Saraki, represented by Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Professor Muhammed Gana, after the meeting with council chairmen in the state, said the state government was highly disturbed about diversion of fertilizers meant for farmers, and would do everything possible to bring those behind the act to book.

He said, "the state government is committed to food production and make food cheaper for all and sundry. The current move of diversion of fertilizers would not be accepted."

The governor said government would leave no stone unturned at ensuring that saboteurs of the act would be made to face full wrath of the law, in order to boost food production in the state.
