Angola: Govt Official Calls for Retrieval of Moral Values in Family

Luanda — The Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino, Sunday in Luanda urged for the retrieval of moral and civic values to the benefit of the family and ensure a balanced social development of the country.

The minister was speaking to the press on the sidelines of celebrations of Family/2009, promoted by the Catholic Church.

According to her, there will not be any participation of all in the reconstruction process of the country and a fair society without united and healthy families.

"It is necessary a tight combat to the harmful practices that threaten the sanity both of the families and citizens, in order to obtain the development allowing Angolans to live in peace" said the minister.

After calling for the involvement of all in fighting against cases related to domestic violence, violation against children and inhuman practices, the minister also highlighted the role of churches and their contribution to the unity of families.
