Luanda — The general inspector of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), general Rafael Sapilinha "Sambalanga", participated on 2 and 3 July in Gaberone City, in Botswana, in the meeting of the work team for the general inspectors of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), ANGOP learnt on Saturday from an official source.
According to the source, the meeting was aimed at preparing the drafting of documents which will guide the functioning of SADC's inspectors which is comprised by Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho and Mauritius.
Madagascar is also a member of the community but has been suspended due to prevailing political instability.
The opening ceremony of the work team of SADC's general inspector, which was recently admitted in the structures of the Inter-State Defence and Security Committee (ISDSC) of this regional body, will take place in Luanda in the first fortnight of August, where Angola will take over the chairmanship of the said group.
In the meeting of Luanda, the participants (military inspectors) of the community will define needed requirements for the participation of the inspectors in the preparatory meetings in the military exercise dubbed "Golfinho" which will be held in September in South Africa.
