Arusha — The National Micro-Finance Bank (NMB) plans to install an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at Mererani township in Simanjiro in a bid to bring financial services closer to the people.
The NMB Mererani Branch Manager Ludovick Mwita, told Tanzanite miners and dealers that the service would soon be available.
He said the bank would also take ATM service to Orkasmet (the government district capital) once the customer base expands to warrant the offer of such service.
The present NMB decision follows special request from Mererani residents through a Tanzanite dealer Laizer Kurian. The township has no bank services and instead people were forced to travel long distances to Boma Ng'ombe in Hai or the municipality of Arusha.
