Angola: IT Minister Announces New Concept in Post Office Work

Huambo — The minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, announced on Wednesday in the central Huambo Province, the introduction of a new multi-functional concept for the post offices sector, where citizens find various services for their benefit.

The official, who was speaking at the end of a three-day visit to the provinces of Huambo and Bié, assured that with the functioning of the respective system, the sector will invest in the training of the technicians and acquisition of new technologies, to provide service of quality to citizens.

"We are working on the introduction of a new concept of multi-functional post offices, where the citizens will find a number of services, therefore it implies that we will have prepared citizens so as to provide service of quality at a reasonable price", he said.

The minister assured that the Luanda/Huambo/Bié section was chosen to check the level of implementation and installation of optical fibres, by considering that the work is positive and in some areas will be concluded at the end of 2009 and others in 2010.

"We recognise that there are lots of work and difficulties, mainly in Huambo/Kuito road", he said.
